Event was graced by Shri Mahendrabhai Munjpara, MLA  Shri Jagdishbhai Makwana, Collector and other  District officers

The Day of Freedom.

The bonded labourers were tortured a lot during British rule.  There was an uprising by this community against the mighty Britishers. They were convicted and imprisoned in jail. Our country became independent on 15th Aug 1947  but these bonded labourers were freed from the jail on 31st August 1952. They celebrate this day as the Day of Freedom. In Surendranagar this year the families celebrated the day. Our associates Shri Harshad Vyas & Jalpa Vyas organised it. Member of Parliament Shri Mahendrabhai Munjpara, MLA Shri  Jagdishbhai Makwana , Collector & other officers of the District remained present. Social worker Truptiben Shukla & others also graced the event.

I am obliged to our respected Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel who was very responsive to the problems of this community. He directed all his officers to pro-actively help. We are proud to have such a Chief Minister. We are extremely thankful to him .

Whatever the shortcomings of this community, the MP & the MLA promised to resolve them quickly. We are much obliged to them. 

We are hopeful that very soon all the problems of this community will be reduced and their lives will improve.

We will shortly start building homes for the 65 families. There is a tremendous support of the government administration.

Our associates Harshad & Jalpa are dedicated VSSM volunteers. I am proud of both. I hope they both progress in their lives and benefit many more families in times to come.

મુક્તિદિન..

વિમુક્ત જાતિઓ પર અંગ્રેજોના વખતમાં ખુબ અત્યાચાર થયો. અંગ્રેજો સામે બંડ પોકારવાનું આ જાતિઓએ કરેલું માટે જ તેમને ગુન્હાહીત ઘોષિત કરીને, વાડામાં બંધ કરી. 15 ઓગષ્ટ 1947ના રોજ દેશ આખો આઝાદ થયો.પણ વાડામાં જેમને કેદ કરેલા તે વિમુક્ત સમુદાયોને 31 ઓગષ્ટ 1952ના રોજ વાડાબંધીમાંથી મુક્તિ મળે માટે આ દિવસને મુક્તિદિન તરીકે ઊજવે. 

સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં આ વખતે મુક્તિ દિનની ઊજવણી અમારા પરિવારોએ કરી. કાર્યકર હર્ષદ વ્યાસ તેમજ જલપા વ્યાસે આયોજન કર્યું જેમાં સંસદ સભ્ય આદરણીય શ્રી મહેન્દ્રભાઈ મુંજપરા ધારાસભ્ય અને વિધાનસભાના દંડક આદરણીય શ્રી જગદીશભાઈ મકવાણા તેમજ જિલ્લાનું વહીવટીતંત્ર આદરણીય કલેક્ટર શ્રી થી લઈને અન્ય અધિકારીગણ ખાસ હાજર રહ્યા. અમારા તૃપ્તીબેન શુક્લ અને અન્ય સમાજીક કાર્યકરો પણ કાર્યક્રમમાં હાજર રહ્યા.

આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલની આભારી છું. સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં વિચરતી જાતિઓના પ્રશ્નો ઘણા પડતર છે. આ બાબતે એમનું ધ્યાન દોર્યું ને એમણે લાગણીપૂર્વક સૌને આ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરવા સૂચના આપી. આવા મુખ્યમંત્રી મળ્યાનું ગૌરવ છે… આપની લાગણી માટે આભારી છું. 

કલેક્ટર શ્રી તેમજ ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી અને સંસદસભ્ય શ્રીએ વિચતરી જાતિઓના જે પણ પડતર પ્રશ્નો છે તેનું નિરાકારણ ઝડપથી લાવવાની પણ ખાત્રી આપી.. આપ સૌ પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતા વ્યક્ત કરુ છું.

આશા રાખીએ આવનારા સમયમાં સુરેન્દ્રનગર જિલ્લામાં વસતા અમારા પરિવારોની મુશ્કેલીઓ થોડી હળવી થાય.

65 પરિવારોની કોલોની તો અમે થોડા જ દિવસોમાં બાંધવાનું શરૃ કરીશું. તંત્રનો એમાં ઘણો સહયોગ..

અમારો હર્ષદ અને જલપા બેય હૃદયથી VSSM ને વરેલા એકદમ સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકરો.. તમારા બેઉ પર ગર્વ છે. ખુબ તરક્કી કરો ને કેટલાયના ભલામાં નિમિત્ત બનો તેવી શુભેચ્છા…

Mittal Patel meets Manguba during her field visit

 “Raju had a serious stomach ailment. I took him to many doctors. Finally he was cured but even today he cannot work hard or lift weight”

Manguba said this with deep anguish. She stays in Patan, Radhanpur. The road leading to her house would not make us believe that she would be in such a difficult condition. Manguba with her small family stays in a temporary shed. She had left her native village many years ago & settled in Radhanpur. She & her husband did labour jobs & survived. But her husband passed away about 10 years ago. To compound Manguba’s problem her son Raju got an ulcer ailment. Manguba has to go  for domestic work to different homes. She has been doing this work for many years but now with advancing age she is not able to do much work.

The neighbours would give their extra food to Manguben. She with a heavy heart said that this extra food would otherwise have been given to dogs. With a lump in the throat she could not speak further. Who likes to live in this manner? Having come to know of her condition , we at VSSM decided to give her a ration kit every month. She continued to do some light work and with our ration kit she & her son survived. With our support now it was not absolutely necessary for her to work. She said that with our help there is much relief in her life.

Like her, we support about 600 such dependent elders. With the support of many well wishers this has become possible.  With just Rs 1500 per month you can even be a guardian to such elders. It is not a big sum. You can contribute through GPay on 9909049893. Our wish is that for the well being of all, let us play our role of helping the needy.. 

‘રાજુને પેટની બહુ મોટી બિમારી થઈ. હું ઘણા દવાખાના એને લઈને દોડી ત્યારે જતા એ સાજો થયો પણ હાલેય એ ભારે કામ નથી કરી હકતો.’

મંગુબાએ વલોવાતા હૈયે આ કહ્યું. પાટણના રાધનપુરમાં એ રહે. આમ તો એમના ઘર તરફ જવાનો રસ્તો જ્યાંથી પસાર થાય એ જોતા મંગુબાની રહેવાની સ્થિતિ આટલી વિકટ હશે એનો અંદાજ ન આવે.

 મંગુબા મર્યાદીત ઘર સંસાર સાથે છાપરાંમાં રહે. એમનું મૂળવતન છોડીને એ વર્ષો પહેલાં રાધનપુર આવી ગયેલા. પતિ પત્ની મજૂરી કરી નભતા. પણ કાકા દસેક વર્ષ પહેલાં ગયા. ને દિકરાને અલ્સરની બિમારી લાગુ પડી.  મંગુબા લોકોના ઘરે કચરા પોતા વાસણ કરવા જાય. આમ તો વર્ષોથી આજ કામ કરે. પણ પહેલાં જેટલું કામ હવે ઉંમરના કારણે નથી કરી શકતા.

સોસાયટીના લોકો ક્યારેક પોતાના ઘરે વધેલું મંગુબાને આપી જાય. બા કહે એમ લોકો વધેલું કૂતરાને ચાટમાં નાખે એની જગ્યાએ….એ વધુ બોલી ન શક્યા. ગળે ડૂમો બાઝ્યો. આવું જીવન કોને ગમે પણ શું કરે? 

બાની સ્થિતિનો ખ્યાલ આવતા અમે દર મહિને રાશન આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. થોડું ઘણું થાય એ કામ એ કરે જેના લીધે મા-દિકરાનું ગુજરાન ચાલે.. પણ પહેલાં કામ કરવું જ પડશે એવું હવે નથી. તબીયત ઠીક ન હોય અથવા પરાણે ન થાય તોય કામ ખેંચતા મંગુબા કહે, ‘તમે રેશન આલો એનાથી મને રાહત થઈ..’

VSSM થકી અમે આવા 600 નિરાધાર બા દાદાઓને રાશન આપીયે. તમે સૌ આમાં મદદ કરો એટલે આ બધુ થાય.

તમે પણ આવા બા-દાદાઓના પાલક બની શકો.. માસીક 1500  એ મોટી રકમ નથી. પણ એનાથી કોઈનો આખો મહિનો નીકળી જાય.. તમે Gpay નંબર 9909049893 થકી મદદ કરી શખો.

Mittal Patel discusses tree planatation with Fine Jewellery team

 Raviyana Village in Banaskantha is an ideal village.

We dug 2 lakes to make them deeper. It helped conserve more water and it benefitted the villagers.  Then the villagers gave us land to plant trees. With the financial help of Fine Jewellery we planted more than 7000 trees. Many thanks to Fine Jewellery.. The staff of the donor also came to help us plant the trees. The sarpanch of the village Shri Rasikbhai hosted dinner with lots of love. The guests from the city of Mumbai relished the typical village food of Millet Rotis & Curd.

The youth of the village are taking great care of the trees that have been planted. The water for the trees is given by the 2 villagers from their own borewell.

It is the need of the hour that trees are planted in every village. People are getting aware about it and that is very heartening. 

This year we have planted 8.72 lakhs trees with a determination that they all should survive.

We are thankful to many supporters who made this possible.

બનાસકાંઠાનું રવીયાણા સંપીલું ગામ.

ગામના બે તળાવો અમે ઊંડા કરેલા ને એનાથી ગામને લાભ પણ થયો. એ પછી વાત આવી વૃક્ષ ઉછેરની. ગામે સરસ જગ્યા આપી અને VSSM એ ફાઈન જ્વેલરીની મુખ્ય મદદ સાથે ગામની ભાગાદીરાથી ત્યાં 7000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા. ફાઈન જ્વેલરીનો ઘણો આભાર.

ફાઈન જેવેલરીનો સ્ટાફ પણ વૃક્ષો વાવવા માટે ખાસ આવ્યો. સરપંચ શ્રી રસીકભાઈએ સૌને બહુ ભાવથી વાળુ કરાવ્યું. 

મુંબઈગરા રોટલા સાથે આપણી દહીંતીખારી ખાઈને રાજી.. 

વૃક્ષોની કાળજી ગામની વૃક્ષમંડળીના યુવાનો સરસ રીતે લે. વૃક્ષોને પાણી ગામના જ બે લોકો પોતાના બોરવેલમાંથી આપે..

દરેક ગામ વૃક્ષો માટે સજ્જ થાય તે આજની જરૃર. જો કે લોકો જાગૃત થઈ રહ્યા છે એ જોઈને રાજી થવાય છે.. 

આ વર્ષેના મળી અમે કુલ 8.72 લાખ વૃશ્રો વાવ્યા એ પણ ઉછેરવાના સંકલ્પ સાથે.. 

આ કાર્ય માટે ઘણા બધા સ્વજનોએ મદદ કરી સૌનો ઘણો ઘણો આભાર.
