 What is your caste or creed? What do you have? How many times have you received ration during the past few days? Have you received cooked meals? VSSM helps people in distress and need without asking any of these uncomfortable questions. 
 What are people asking for??

Food that too uncooked!! To be honest, for how long can one eat the same food every day. “Ben, if you give us ration we will cook for ourselves. Even a rotla with chilli is enough for us, please do not give us cooked meals!!” People are sharing such feedback and we respect their choice. 

 It important that we understand that these families are required to accept food as a donation because they cannot venture out to work and earn. None of them is a bagger and out ration kits are not making them wealthy. 
 Recently in Bagasara, we provided ration kits to76 families belonging to Devipujak, Valmiki, Nathbawa communities with support from Piyushbhai Kothari. Thank you Piyushbhai.

 નાત- જાત, તમારી પાસે શું છે? તમને કેટલીવાર રાશન મળ્યું? રાંધેલું મળે છે કે નહીં? વગેરે જેવા એકેય પ્રશ્નો પુછ્યા વગર VSSM વંચિત અને તકલીફમાં હોય એવા માણસોને મદદ કરે..
લોકો શું માંગી રહ્યા છે? ખાલી જમવાનું…

હા રાંધેલા માટે હવે ના પાડે છે. મૂળ એક જ પ્રકારનું કેટલા દિવસ સુધી ખાઈ શકાય. બેન રાશન આલશો તો રોટલો ને મરચુ ખાઈન પડ્યા રઈશું.. પણ રાંધેલું ભઈ સાબ ના આલો એવું એ લોકો કહે છે અને એને અમે સન્માન આપીયે છીએ.

ફોટોમાં દેખાય એમાંના એકેય આપણે આપેલી રાશનકીટથી બંગલાવાળા નથી થઈ જવાના…જરૃર છે એમની પાસે નથી એટલે માંગી રહ્યા છે.. ત્યારે આપણો ધર્મ આપવાનો અને આપણે એ બરાબર નિભાવવાનો…
અમરેલીના બગસરામાં રહેતા દેવીપૂજક, વાલ્મીકી, નાથબાવા સમુદાયના 76 પરિવારોને રાશન આપવાનું અમે કર્યું.આ કાર્યમાં આર્થિક મદદ તો અમારા પિયુષભાઈ કોઠારીએ કરી… આભાર પિયુષભાઈ
રાશન આપ્યાના ફોટો એમની લાચારી બતાવવા
નથી મૂક્યા.. પણ આ તકવંચિતો છે જેમને આપણે છીએ પછી હજારો જાતની શંકાઓ કરીએ છીએ.. આ શંકા મુક્ત થવા અને આ જોઈને અન્યને પ્રેરણા મળે તે માટે ફોટો મુક્યા છે…

With the help of our dear well-wisher,we provided ration kits to 250 nomadic families in Banaskantha

A dear friend who happens to be  a  very senior government official holding an important designation recently asked me, “how can I be instrumental in the work you are doing?” I shared with him the current work VSSM is doing with regards to the food and grain kits for the daily wage earning nomadic families affected by the lockdown as a result of COVID-19.

 “I am in Palanpur. How can I be of help there?” he inquired.
 “We do not need money. Can you prepare grain kits as per our requirements and send it to the people in need?” I had replied.
“Of course.”

Next day 250 kits reach the needy nomadic families living in Juna Deesa and LP Savani Nagar while some kits will soon reach Dhanera.

સરકારમાં ઉચ્ચ હોદ્દા પર બિરાજમાન અમારા એક પ્રિય મિત્રએ કહ્યું. તમે જે કાર્ય કરો છો એમાં હું કેવી રીતે નિમિત્ત બનું. મે એમને હાલમાં VSSM દ્વારા લોકોને રાશન આપવાનું કરી રહ્યા અંગે વાત કરી.
એમણે કહ્યું, ‘ હું પાલનપુરમાં છુ ત્યાં હું કેવી રીતે મદદ કરુ?’
મે કહ્યું, પૈસા નહીં પણ તમે હું રાશનની વિગત આપું તે વિગતે કીટ તૈયાર કરીને અમને આપી શકો? એમણે હા કહીને બીજા દિવસે અમને 250 રાશનકીટ મળી ગઈ.
જે જૂનાડીસામાં રહેતા નટ અને એલ પી સવાણી નગરમાં રહેતા વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોને આપવામાં આવી..હજુ કેટલીક કીટ ધાનેરામાં આપવાની બાકી છે જે આજે આપી દઈશું.
આ સાથે જેમને રાશનકીટ આપવામાં આવી છે તે પરિવારોની યાદી તેમજ ફોટો સામેલ છે..
ફોટો અને યાદી એટલા માટે કે ક્યાંક કોઈ બીજાને ખ્યાલ આવે કે અહીંયા થોડા દિવસ ચાલે એટલું આપ્યું છે. તો આ વસાહતોમાં હાલ નહીં આપો તો ચાલશે એ દર્શાવવા યાદી અને ફોટો..

આભાર મદદ કરનાર સ્નેહીજનનો એમણે કહ્યું,

I received a call from Union Minister Shri Mansukhbhai Mandaviya yesterday, to understand what more can be done to make the lockdown easier for the marginalized families. The conversation stretched beyond 15 minutes. We discussed how important it was to put the health and well-being of everyone before the economy. The efforts government and administration are putting in to contain the virus are truly commendable.  And the admirable aspect was the top leaders of our nation are worried and concerned about the state of the poor, they are calling to inquire how to plan effective measures.
 “Kindly request people to not give prepared meals as there is a concern of virus spreading while going for daily distribution. The ration kits that the people contribute should have stuff like oil, spices, potatoes etc as the families are receiving grains from the government grain shops,” were few of my suggestions to respected Shri Mansukhbhai.
 VSSM is providing ration kits to the families in need. Mumbai based Sparsh organisation has been instrumental in reaching 1000 families. In coming days VSSM is going to provide ration to 4000 more families. If you can please contribute to the cause.

 180 families of Vijapur,   Visnagar and some villages have been provided curated food kits from the financial support Sparsh has provided us. The names of heads of families who received the ration kit are shared here. The need to share it here is for others to know that these families have grains to last them few days,  so anyone planning to donate can proceed to other settlements that might be on need of ration.
 I hope these families manage to sail through the second phase of lockdown in good health!!

 એમની સાથે લગભગ પંદર મીનીટ કરતા વધુ વાત થઈ. દેશનું અર્થકારણ પડી ભાંગશે એવી ચિંતા આપણને સૌને છે પણ જીવશું તો બધું ઊભું કરી લઈશું એવી વાત પણ મનસુખભાઈ સાથે થઈ. સરકાર અને સમગ્ર તંત્ર જે રીતે અત્યારે મથી રહ્યા છે એને બિરદાવવાનું તો કરવું જ જોઈએ જે મે કર્યું.

પણ રાજીપો દેશની સર્વોચ્ચ સત્તા પર બેઠેલા વ્યક્તિઓ ગરીબોની દશાનો તાગ મેળવી રહ્યા છે એનો છે..
મે એમને કહ્યું, લોકો ને વિનંતી કરીએ રાંધેલા અનાજની જગ્યાએ રાશનકીટ આપે. રાંધેલું આપવા જવામાંય સંક્રમણનો ભોગ બની જ શકાય.
લોકો દ્વારા આપવામાં આવતી રાશનકીટમાં સરકારે આપેલા ઘઉ, ચોખા સિવાય, મસાલા, તેલ, મરચુ બટેકાં વગેરે આપવા પણ જાહેર વિનંતી કરી શકાય તેવી ઘણી વાતો માનનીય મનસુખભાઈ સાથે થઈ.

VSSM તકવંચિતોને રાશન આપવાનું અત્યારે કરે છે. ઘણા સ્નેહીજનો મદદ કરે છે. મુંબઈમાં આવેલા સ્પર્શની મદદથી 1000 વંચિતોને રાશન આપવાનું અમે કર્યું. એ સિવાય વી.એસ.એસ.એમ. થકી આગામી દિવસોમાં 4000 પરિવારોને રાશન આપવાનું કરીશું.
આપને પણ આ કાર્યમાં આપનો સહયોગ આપવા વિનંતી…
 મહેસાણાના વિજાપુર, વિસનગર શહેર તેમજ ગામોમાં રહેતા 180 તકવંચિત પરિવારોને રાશન આપવાનું સ્પર્શના આર્થિક સહયોગથી અમે કર્યું. જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે. જેમને રાશન આપ્યું તેમની યાદી પણ સામેલ છે. યાદી અને ફોટો આપવા પાછળનો આશય આ પરિવારોને થોડા દિવસ ચાલે એટલું અમે આપ્યું છે. જેથી કોઈ અન્ય આપવા ઈચ્છતા હોય તો બીજી જગ્યા પસંદ કરી શકે.
આ પરિવારોનો લોકડાઉનનો બીજો ફેઝ હેમખેમ પાર પડી જાય એવી શુભભાવના…

The long wait for home for the Mir families of Samarvada…

Mittal Patel meets Mir families of Samarvada village
“We neither have any facility for drinking water nor power. We had our hutments over a patch of government wasteland but were asked to vacate it. One generous individual allowed us to stay over his land however, he too asked us to move out as he has sold off the land. We have no place to go in all of  Saamarwada. It is so tiring and frustrating, Ben. Can you please tell the government to speed up and allot us plots. We have been requesting for such a long time but nothing seems to be working in our favour.”
The current living condition of Mir families
Pelajbhai Mir stays in Saamarvada village of Dhanera block in Banaskantha shares the plight of 12 Mir families who have nowhere to go. They have been surviving in some extremely inhuman conditions about which we have shared their status with the concerned authorities however, no favourable actions have been taken so far.

The Meer does not feature on the official list of Nomadic and De-Notified communities. However, the government ordinance of 2018 stating that houses will be provided to all homeless families and the Mir to are homeless hence, should become eligible to benefit from that ordinance. We have been stating these facts to the officials for the past 5 years but in vain.

Our Prime Minister has pledged house for all by 2022, the state government remains committed to the same. Our Chief Minister has already instructed the district collectors to take necessary measures to ensure homeless families receive residential plots. As a result of this families have started receiving plots for which we are grateful to the government. However, the condition of these Mir families of Saamarvada is miserable. I go to Banaskantha 4-5 times in a month when these families come to know that I am in the region they spend on the commute and travel all the way to meet and share their fatigue and frustrations.
“We cannot afford to buy a plot, Ben. If the government gives one we shall build a house over it!!” Pelajbhai shared.
We hope the government does the needful for these families. The Banaskantha District Collector is a very compassionate human being, he has already instructed his officials. The problem of Mir is more complex than it seems to resolve which one has to look above and beyond.
Traditionally, Meer community kept  ancestry records for the Rabari community. Rabari is a  semi-nomadic pastoral community of Gujarat. They have always led a nomadic lifestyle. The Mir community has been left out from the official list of nomadic communities for some reason.  The central government is in the process of revising this list until that happens the state government will need to include them in the schemes and policies earmarked for the development of severely marginalised communities.
We are sure the government and authorities will ensure that the coming times bring rays of hope for these families.

‘અમારા ત્યાં નથી પીવાના પાણીની સગવડ, નથી લાઈટની સગવડ. સરકારી પડતરમાં રહેતા ત્યાંથી ખાલી કરાવ્યું. એક ભાઈએ પોતાની જગ્યામાં જ્યાં સુધી રહેવા જગ્યા જડે નહીં ત્યાં સુધી છાપરાં નાખી રહેવા કીધુ. પણ હવે એ ભાઈએ પણ જગ્યા વેચી દીધી. નવા માલિકે જગ્યા ખાલી કરાવી. આખા સામારવાડામાં બીજે છાપરાં નંખાય એવી જગ્યા નથી. હવે થાક્યા બેન, સરકારને ક્યો પલોટ આપે એ હાટુ કેટલી વનિતી કરી સે. પણ કશું થાતું નથું’
બનાસકાંઠાના ધાનેરાના સામરવાડામાં રહેતા પેલાજભાઈ મીરની આ પીડા. 12 પરિવારો સામરવાડા ધાનેરા રોડ પર સાવ અમાનવીય સ્થિતિમાં રહે છે. વારંવાર અધિકારીગણને આ પરિવારોની સ્થિતિનો ચિતાર આપ્યો છે પણ…
મીરને વિચરતી જાતિની યાદીમાં દાખલ નથી કર્યા. પણ સરકાર દ્વારા 2018માં કરેલા ઠરાવ મુજબ ઘરવિહોણા તમામ પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાની જોગવાઈ છે અને એ માટે જિલ્લા વિકાસ અધિકારીથી લઈને તાલુકા વિકાસ અધિકારીએ કાર્ય કરવાનું રહે છે. છેલ્લા પાંચેક વર્ષથી આ બાબતે લખીએ છીએ પણ..
આપણા વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીએ 2022 સુધીમાં ઘર વિહોણા તમામ પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાનો સંકલ્પ કર્યો છે. રાજ્ય સરકાર પણ એ માટે કટીબદ્ધ છે. આપણા મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીએ તો આવા પરિવારોને રહેવા પ્લોટ અને ઘર આપવાની સૂચના તમામ જિલ્લા કલેકટર શ્રીને આપી છે. તેમની લાગણીને લીધે ઘણા કામો થઈ રહ્યા છે. જે માટે સરકારના આભારી છીએ પણ સામરવાડાની સ્થિતિ બહુ દયનિય છે. હું બનાસકાંઠા મહિનામાં ચારેક દિવસ જવું છુ આ પરિવારોને ખ્યાલ આવે કે હું બનાસકાંઠા છું તો હું જ્યાં હોવું ત્યાં મને મળવા ભાડા ખર્ચીને પહોચી આવે છે.
પેલાજ ભાઈ કહે છે, ‘બેન અમારી તાકાત પ્લોટ ખરીદવાની નથી. જમી સરકાર આપી દે તો એની માથે ઘર અમે બાંધી દઈશું’
તેમની આ વાતને સમજી યોગ્ય કરવા માટેની અપેક્ષા રાખીએ છીએ. કલેક્ટર શ્રી પોતે પણ ભલા માણસ એમની સાથે વાત થઈ એમણે કહ્યું સૂચના આપી છે.. પણ મૂળ પ્રશ્ન આ પરિવારોને જમીન

Ramesh embarks upon his journey to a settled life …

Mittal Patel meets Ramesh during her visit to Palanpur
Diamond polisher Ramesh planned to buy an auto rickshaw but lack of funds prevented him from putting that idea into action. Ramesh’s idea was perfect and his commitment was superior but couldn’t do much because of lack of funds. Ramesh shared his idea and asked for a loan. We sanctioned Rs. 40,000 to help him pay the down payment, rest of the amount he planned to borrow from a finance company. VSSM’s loan and another one from a private finance company helped him buy an auto-rickshaw worth Rs. 2.65 lacs. 
“Will you be able to pay instalments to both these loans, the amount comes to around Rs. 10,000?” we had inquired.
“I will not go home until I earn Rs. 1000 daily!” Ramesh had assured.
Ramesh remained true to his words. The CNG and maintenance cost his Rs. 300 daily and with the remaining Rs. 700 he would manage his household expenses and loan payments.
Ramesh is a wise man. He is the sole bread earner in the family with the responsibility of 5 people including his parents. He had also got himself a LIC policy.
“I am in a hurry to finish this loan, I plan to buy another rickshaw and give it on rent. My elder brother works are daily wager, I want to get him into some more rewarding occupation. Labour can never match up to the independent business.” Ramesh shared about his plans.
Ramesh has embarked upon accomplishing his dreams. At the end of our talk, he says, “I want to be very happy and start donating to VSSM!”
May God help him fulfil his dreams.
Ramesh had specially come to see me when I was in Palanpur recently. He assured to soon open a separate savings account with the bank.
And I am happy that one more family settles down in life. Always grateful for the support we receive from our well-wishers and friends who have helped settle thousands of such families.

હીરા ઘસવાનું કામ કરતા રમેશે પોતાની રીક્ષા લેવાનું વિચાર્યું.
પણ પાસે એક રૃપિયોય નહીં. કમાવવાની ઘગશ ઘણી પણ વગર પૈઈએ ધંધો કેવી રીતે કરવો?
રમેશે રીક્ષા લેવાની વાત અમારી સામે કરી અને એ માટે ડાઉનપેમેન્ટ ભરવા ચાલીસ હજારની લોન માંગી.
બાકીની વ્યવસ્થા હું ફાઈનાન્સમાંથી કરીશ. એવું એણે એ વખતે કહેલું.
અમે VSSMમાંથી ચાલીસ હજારની લોન આપી. બાકીની વ્યવસ્થા ફાઈનાન્સમાંથી એણે કરી અને બે લાખ પાંસઠ હજારની રીક્ષા લીધી.
સંસ્થાની તેમજ ફાઈનાન્સની બેય લોનનો હપ્તો દસ હજાર આવે. આટલા ભરાશે એવું એ વખતે એને પૂછેલું,
ત્યારે રમેશે કહેલું, જ્યાં સુધી દિવસના હજાર નહીં કમાવું ત્યાં સુધી ઘેર નહીં જવું.
રમેશે બોલેલું પાળ્યું. ત્રણસો રૃપિયાનો ગેસ અને મેઈન્ટેન્સ કાઢતા સાતસો બચે એમાંથી લોનના હપ્તા અને ઘર ચાલે.
પરિવારમાં કમાનાર મુખ્ય વ્યક્તિ રમેશ એ સિવાય મા- બાપ સાથે પાંચ જણાની જવાબદારી.
ઉંમર બહુ મોટી નહીં પણ સમજણ ઘણી.એટલે બચત માટે એલઆઈસીની પોલીસી પણ લીધી.
રમેશ કહે છે, ‘લોન ઝટ પતે પછી બીજી રીક્ષા લાવવી છે એને ભાડે આપીશ. મોટોભાઈ છે એ છૂટક મજૂરી કરે છે એનેય ધંધે વળગાળવો છે. સ્વતંત્ર ધંધાને મજૂરી પહોંચી શકે નહીં માટે’
સ્વપ્નો જોવાનું રમેશે શરૃ કર્યું છે.
એની સાથે વાત પૂર્ણ કરી રહી ત્યાં એણે કહ્યું,
‘બેન સુખી થવું છે અને સંસ્થામાં ડોનર બનવું છે’
ઈશ્વર એની આ તમન્ના પૂર્ણ કરે તેવી પ્રાર્થના…
હું પાલનપુર ગઈ ત્યારે એ ખાસ મળવા આવ્યો અને દર મહિને બચતનું એક જુદુ ખાતુ ખોલાવવાનું એણે વચન આપ્યું.
ચાલો એક પરિવાર યોગ્ય રીતે થાળે પડ્યાનો આનંદ
અને આ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરનાર પ્રિયજન કે જેમણે આવા પરિવારોને લોન માટે મદદ કરી તેમનો આભાર…
એણે પોતાની રીક્ષા સાથે ફોટો પડાવવા કહ્યું જે તમેય જોઈ શકો છો…

The presence of our dear well-wishers, our guardian angels in quite a few districts eases a lot of our stress, to whom we just do not need to ask for help. During any crisis or calamity, it is they who call us up to inquire if we need some help!!

After the lockdown was announced he calls up Harshad, our team Surendranagar team member and assigns him the task to ensure that any of the poor and needy individual or family that VSSM knows or comes into contact with VSSM should not remain hungry. Shri Rajesh had already ensured and put the machinery in place to ensure that the ration supplied by government reaches the needy families on time but he also made sure that the other supplies like oil, spices, pulses, lentils that are not part of the government supplies also reach these families through individuals and organisations prepared to contribute during these times.

Shri Rajesh does not just ensure that the local authorities act as per the rules on the pending application files of the nomadic families but also follows up on each file he has processed, unlike other seniors who simply live it to the hands of the junior officials. It is because of his proactiveness that numerous nomadic families have received residential plots during his tenure. It is no doubt that the marginalised families will receive the required care and attention when we have a sensitive official at the realm. Salute to you, Sir.

 Another well-wishing friend we have in Surendranagar is its eminent citizen Madhviben Shah who is also associated with Zalawad Chamber of Commerce and Industries. On the very next day I received a call from her saying not to worry about her district, just let her know where help was needed and she will take care of the rest. And that is what they did by reaching to families we required support for. We shall be grateful to you Madhviben, for your unflinching support always.

 Shri K Rajesh and Madhviben brought us in contact with S. S. White Company’s Rahulbhai Shukla, Jaybhai of Omtext Cotton Speen Pvt. Ltd. As well as Mamlatdars of each block who have helped us tremendously in each block. Vadwala Temple and other organisation also helped with meals in the settlement.

We will always remain grateful for your support and kind gestures. Along with the government supplies, your support and Harshad’s untiring efforts  have helped us reach more than 700 families of Surendranagar. 
Our Harshad was not keeping well for a long time. Every couple of months he had to be hospitalised. I would always tell him, “Keep all your health-related concerns aside rather completely engage yourself in the work. All your worries will run away.”  At times he would listen to be or else ignored what I said. After Shri K Rajesh has taken charge of Surendranagar, Harshad has been so busy that he has forgotten the gates of any hospital, he has been so busy with the works assigned to him that his health concerns seem to have disappeared. Respect you for all that you do, Harshad. 
Our deepest  regards to all who have decided to support during this crisis. India shines because of the noble people like you. 
Just as our nomads would say, “May Almighty grant you happiness, keep you healthy and shower you with prosperity!!’

કેટલાક જિલ્લામાં અમારા એવા પ્રિયસ્વજનો બેઠા છે જેમને મદદ માટે કહેવું જ નથી પડ્યું.
આફતની આ ઘડીમાં એમણે સામેથી બોલો ક્યાં મદદની જરૃર છે એમ કહીને સામેથી મદદની તૈયારી દાખવી..
એમાં સૌથી પહેલું નામ લેવું હોય તો સુરેન્દ્રનગર કલેક્ટર શ્રી કે. રાજેશનું. અમારા કાર્યકર હર્ષદને બોલાવીને કોઈ ગરીબ VSSMના સંપર્કમાં હોય અને ભૂખ્યું ના રહે તે જોવાનું તારા શીરે એમ કહીને.. સરકાર દ્વારા અપાતું રાશન તો એમને સમયસર મળે તે એમણે સમગ્ર સુરેન્દ્રનગર જિલ્લાના વહીવટીતંત્ર સાથે ગોઠવ્યું પણ એ સિવાય પણ જિલ્લાના સેવાભાવી માણસોને સરકાર દ્વારા અપાતા રાશન સિવાયની જરૃરિયાત જેમ કે, તેલ, મરચુ, મસાલા, કઠોળ, દાળ માટે જોડ્યા.
કે. રાજેશની આવી લાગણીના લીધે જ મને એમના માટે વિશેષ માન છે. 
વિચરતી જાતિઓના પ્રશ્નને નિયમોનુસાર કાર્યવાહી કરવા નીચેના અધિકારીઓને ફાઈલ પર એ કહે. પણ અન્ય ઘણા અધિકારીની જેમ પછી ધક્કો દઈ દીધો હવે નીચેથી આવે તો આગળ વધવું એમ નહીં એ પોતે પાછું ફોલઅપ કરે અને એટલે જ એમના જિલ્લામાં ઘણા પરિવારોને રહેવા પ્લોટ ફાળવાયા.. આવા લાગણીશીલ વ્યક્તિ જ્યાં હોય ત્યાં આવી સ્થિતિમાં તકવંચિતોનું વિશેષ ધ્યાન રખાય એમાં શંકા ક્યાંથી હોય.. તમને સલામ સાહેબ..
સુરેન્દ્રનગરના બીજા પ્રબુદ્ધ નાગરિક એટલે માધ્વીબેન શાહ જેઓ ઝાડાવાડ ચેમ્બર્સ ઓફ કોમર્સ એન્ડ ઈન્ડસ્ટ્રીઝ સાથે પણ સંક્ળાયેલા તેમણે લોક઼ડાઉનના બીજા દિવસે જ કહી દીધેલું મારા જિલ્લાની ચિંતા ના કરતા કાંઈ પણ મદદની જરૃર હોય તો જાણ કરજો અને જ્યાં મદદ માંગી ત્યાં તેમણે કરી પણ ખરી. ધન્યવાદ માધ્વીબેન
આવા જ અન્ય સ્વજનો કે જેમણે કલેક્ટર સાહેબે તો ક્યાંક માધ્વીબહેને અમારી સાથે જોડ્યા એવા  એસ.એસ.વ્હાઈટ કંપની ના રાહુલભાઈ શુક્લ, ઓમેક્ક્ષ કોટન સ્પીન પ્રા. લી.ના જયભાઈ 
અને દરેક તાલુકાના મામલતદાર શ્રી એ પણ ખુબ જ મદદ કરી.. વડવાળા મંદિર અને અન્ય સંસ્થાઓએ  પણ વસાહતોમાં જમાડવાની વ્યવસ્થા કરી.

આપની મદદથી સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં રહેતા 700 ઉપરાંત તકવંચિત પરિવારોને સરકાર દ્વારા મળતી સહાય ઉપરાંત અન્ય રાશન આપવામાં અમે કાર્યકર હર્ષદ થકી નિમિત્ત બન્યા..
કાર્યકર હર્ષદની તબીયત ઘણી નાજુક રહેતી. દર થોડા વખતે એ હોસ્પીટલમાં દાખલ હોય. હું એને કહેતી હર્ષદ તબીયતની ચિંતા બાજુએ મૂકી કામમાં પરોવાઈ જા આ બધું ભાગી જશે. પણ ક્યારેક એ મારી વાત માનતો ક્યારેક નહીં. પણ કે. રાજેશે – કલેક્ટર તરીકે સુરેન્દ્રનગરનો ચાર્જ સંભાળ્યો ત્યારથી હર્ષદે હોસ્પીટલનો દરવાજો નથી જોયો. મૂળ તો કલેકટર શ્રીએ એને એવો કામમાં પરોવ્યો કે વાત ના પુછો..

અને મદદ કરનાર સૌ આત્મીયજનો ને વંદન.. આપ જેવાથી જ દેશ ઊજળો છે..

With the help of Maharshibhai and his organisation SPARSH, we provided ration kits to more than 125 nomadic families in Bagasara

During any crisis, many well-wishing friends call us to inquire if we need any help or to let us know that they are ready to help when needed.
Immediately after the lockdown was announced following the COVID-19 situation, Maharshibhai called to inquire for the help needed. “Lot of people and organisations are helping people in need and distress. There is enough help pouring in, will definitely reach out to you when we need your support!!” I replied after thanking Maharshibhai for his support.

On the 14th -15th day of the lockdown, we felt the need to call Maharshibhai as the grains given by individuals and organisations began to exhaust, some community kitchens were shutting down. The government supplies did not have spices, oil or pulses. I received countless calls with the mentioned issues. My writing on Facebook and Twitter too had repercussions that people from my large family had to face. “Ben, villagers reprimand us because you write on social media,” they complained.

I remembered Maharshibhai’s call, he had told us to call up whenever the need arises. In fact, he was the first to offer help. I decided to request him for support. I was explaining him in detail that why do we need his help now, “Mittalben, you do not need to explain so much. Please do whatever needs to be done!!”
So with the help of Maharshibhai and his organisation SPARSH, we provided ration kits to more than 125 families in Bagasara. We are also taking his support for families staying in North Gujarat.

આફતની ઘડીમાં કેટલાક પ્રિયજનો હું છું, ‘જરૃર પડે યાદ કરજો’ એવું ફોન કરીને કહેતા હોય..
કોરોનાના લીધે લોકડાઉન થયું ને તુરત આવા જ પ્રિયજન મહર્ષીભાઈનો ફોન શું મદદ જોઈએ એ માટે આવેલો.
મે કહ્યું, હાલ ઘણા લોકો, સંસ્થાઓ વંચિતોને મદદ કરે છે. એટલે હાલ મદદની જરૃર નથી. જ્યારે લાગશે ત્યારે કહીશ.
લોકડાઉનના 14માં પદંરમાં દિવસે મદદ માટેનો વખત આવ્યાનું અમને લાગ્યું.
લોકો અને સંસ્થાઓએ આપેલું રાશન ખૂટ્યું, ક્યાંક જમવાનું આપતા તે બંધ થયું. સરકારે જે આપ્યું તેમાં મસાલા, તેલ કઠોળ નહીં.
આવી વિગતે રોજિંદા ઢગલો ફોન.. હું ફેસબુક અને ટવીટર પર લખુ પણ એનાથીએ જુદી તકલીફો ઊભી થઈ. બેન ગામના લોકો ધમકાવે છે તમે લખો છો ને એટલે..
શું કરુ?
આખરે અમારા પર વિશ્વાસ રાખનાર પ્રિય સ્વજનો યાદ આવ્યા. તેમણે કહેલું મદદની જરૃર હોય ત્યારે કહેજો એ વાત યાદ કરીને તેમને મદદ માટે વિનંતી કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. મહર્ષીભાઈ એમાં પહેલાં હતા.
એમને હું વિસ્તારથી સમજાવી રહી હતી કે હવે મદદની કેમ જરૃર છે એમણે કહ્યું, ‘અરે મિત્તલબેન કશુંયે કહેવાની જરૃર નથી તમને જે લાગે તે કરી કાઢો..’
અને મહર્ષીભાઈ અને તેમની સંસ્થા સ્પર્શની મદદથી અમે બગસરામાં 125 ઉપરાંત પરિવારોને રાશન કીટ આપવાનું કર્યું.
ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં પણ એમની મદદથી કામ કરી રહ્યા છીએ…
પણ હાલ પુરતુ બગસરાના ફોટો સમજવા ખાતર મુક્યા છે.
કોઈને રાશન આપતા ફોટો મુકવા બહુ ગમે નહીં પણ ક્યાંક પ્રેરણા પણ મળતી હોય છે.

The nomadic families of Diyodar village received grain kits
Recently, the families of Banaskantha’s Diyodar received grain kits from our dear Maharshibhai and Rutu. The kits were specially curated after consulting the preferences of these families.

“Ben, we need red chilli powder. It is the spice we can eat anything with. Rotla with chilli will also be enough. We need heat in our meals to make us feel satisfied. And please no rice, we and not rice-eating people, we cannot eat Khichri every day. Don’t waste your grains, give them to someone who prefers to eat rice,” these are challenging times and the condition of the daily wage earners who buy their food on daily basis is traumatic but Dewaba’s request brought a smile on my face.

We finally decided to provide only those grains, flours and spices the families need. Maharshibhai through his organisation Sparsh provided the financial assistance to prepare these kits.
 We must be aware of the fact that these families are self-respecting people, they do not like to take anything for free or beg for food. “I don’t have a choice but to take charity…” many have been telling us these days.

 “I have stacks of chairs and tubs (plastic ware she sells) lying here next to me. Arrange something that we can go and sell them so that we are not required to stretch our hands for food, can you do that?” requested Mashruba.

 We could coordinate with Sparsh organisation to ensure food reaches these self-respecting families. We are grateful to Maharshibhai and Sparsh for their generous support.
 And salute to our Naran and Eshwar for their commitment to work and deciding venture out in such difficult times when staying at home is the only way to remain safe.

 બનાસકાંઠાના દિયોદરમાં અમારા પ્રિય સ્વજન મહર્ષીભાઈ અને ઋતુ થકી 150 પરિવારોને તેમને શું જોઈએ છે એ પુછીને રાશન આપવામાં આવ્યું.

અમારા લોકોએ કહ્યું ‘બેન, મરચુુ અન તેલ આલશો તોય ચાલશે રોટલો અને મરચુ ખઈન પડ્યા રઈશું, કોકો તીખુ ખઈએ તો ખાધુ હોય એવું લાગ.અન ભાત ભઈ સાબ રોજ રોજ આ સીચડી નહીં ભાવતી. તમ તમાર બીજા ગરીબ ગરબોન આલજો. નકોમો બગાડ ના કરો. અમારાથી હવ સીચડી ગળે નહીં ઉતરતી’ દેવાબાની આ વાત સાંભળીને સ્થિતિ કરુણ છે છતાં હસવું આવી ગયું.

આખરે એ લોકોએ જે કહ્યું એ પ્રમાણેની એમને ગમતી કીટ બનાવીને આપવાનું અમે નક્કી કર્યું.

મહર્ષીભાઈએ તેમની સંસ્થા સ્પર્શમાંથી આ પરિવારોની કીટ માટે આર્થિક મદદ કરી.
આ લોકો આમ બહુ ખાનદાન માણસો છે. મફતનું ખાવાની વૃતિ એમનામાં નથી. પણ ના છૂટક્યાનું આ ધર્માદુ ખાવુ પડે એવું કહેનાર આમાં ઘણા છે.

અમારા મશરૃબા એ તો કહ્યું, ‘આ મારી કને ખુરશી અને તગારાં પડ્યા સે (પ્લાસ્ટીકના તગારાનો એ વેપાર કરે) ઈન વેચવા જવા દેવાનું કોક ગોઠવી આલો ન બાપલા એ વેચાય તો કોઈ હોમે હાથ લોબો ના કરવો પડ…’

આવા ખાનદાન માણસોને આજે સ્પર્શની આર્થિક મદદથી VSSMના સંકલનથી રાશનની કીટ આપવામાં આવી.

ઘરમાં રહેવું સુરક્ષીત છે. ત્યારે VSSMની ટીમ પોતાની સુરક્ષીતતાની ચિંતા કર્યા વગર ફીલ્ડમાં કાર્યરત છે .

Lalitbhai goes above and beyond to feed hundreds of nomadic families.

 On the second day of lockdown, I received a call from Shri Lalitbhai of Banaskantha’s VSSM inspired public association.

“Ben, we will need to act quickly, the condition of the poor families here is pathetic. We will need to give them food at the earliest!!”
We connected him local administration of Banaskantha.
Lalitbhai also pledged to mobilize all his contacts to pitch in to help during this crisis. He knew he had to respond swiftly hence,  instead of waiting for others  Lalitbhai began with his own home. Lalitbhai’s family went above and beyond to help these families as they began sending out cooked meals for these families.  Other team members from VSSM’s public association;  Balubhai, Gulabhai, Balvantbhai also joined Lalitbhai.

Cooking at an event for 200 to 500 persons for a day or two is ok but doing the same on an everyday basis is a huge challenge that Lalitbhai has taken upon him in spite of financial limitations. There are individuals especially from Palanpur who are also contributing to his efforts. As a result of these endeavours, many nomadic settlements of Palanpur have received regular meals since the lockdown.

A big salute and thank you to Lalitbhai, Balubhai, Gulabhai and Balvantbhai, you have portrayed the true spirit of VSSM.

Lalitbhai, please remember we are just a phone call away whenever you need us. It is important Palanpur also takes note of Lalitbhai’s perseverance. Our usual belief that it takes lots of money to be able to give back to the society has been proved wrong by efforts taken up by Lalitbhai.
Palanpur please rise up and support Lalitbhai.
Our country has been able to stand up to such this catastrophic challenge because of hundreds of Lalitbhais around us and we salute these noble souls.

એ સિવાય લલીતભાઈના પોતાના સંપર્કો પણ ખૂબ. એમણે એ બધાને
આ મહામારીમાં એકબીજા સાથે જોડવાનો નિર્ધાર કર્યો.

જો કે શરૃઆત કરી પોતના ઘરે રસોઈ બનાવવાથી… અહીંયા લલીતભાઈની ભાવના સેવાની ખરી પણ પરિવાર તો એમનાથીયે ચડીયાતો નીકળ્યો. સૌ પ્રેમથી બે ટંક રસોઈ બનાવીને ગરીબ, વંચિત વિચરતી જાતિના લોકોને પહોંચાડવા માંડ્યા.
અમારી vssm લોકસંગઠનની ટીમના બલુભાઇ, ગુલાબભાઇ. બળવંતભાઇ પણ લલીતભાઈ સાથે જોડાયા.

આપણા ઘરે એક દિવસનો પ્રસંગ હોય અને બસો – પાંચસો માણસોનું જમવાનું બનાવવાનું હોય તોય આપણે થાકી જઈએ છીએ. જ્યારે અહીંયા તો લલીતભાઈએ આ સેવાયજ્ઞ કેટલા દિવસોથી શરૃ કર્યો છે.
આર્થિક રીતે એવી કોઈ જોરદાર સ્થિતિ નથી. પણ મનની ભાવના બહુ ઊંચી છે.. મદદ કરવાવાળા મળી રહે છે અને જુઓ પાલનપુર સીટીની ઘણી વસાહતો સચવાઈ ગઈ છે..

થેક્યુ લલીતભાઈ, બલુભાઈ, ગુલાબભાઈ, બળવંતભાઈ તમે સંસ્થાના સાચા અને સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકર છો.
જ્યાં અટકો ત્યાં કહેજો અમે છીએ… પાલનપુરની પ્રજા પણ લલીતભાઈ અને મિત્રોની સેવાની નોંધ લે એ જરૃરી…
પૈસા ટકે સુખી હોઈએ તો જ સેવા થાય એ વાત લલીતભાઈએ ખોટી સાબિત કરી છે..
