We used to run our household expenses with great difficulty. The loan you had given made me prosper. I could start the business of making coal. Ben, if I don’t pay the loans I was given, then my I will lose my credit.”

Babubhai Laxmanbhai Raval, 55, lives in Khakhal village of Harij Taluka of Patan district. When he came to office, he started pleading when he came to office, “Ben, I am sorry, I could not repay my instalment regularly. I have got money of three instalments with me right now. I want to donate something to the organization as well. I am not dishonest but I could not but I could not sell during the monsoon so I missed an instalment. When we go to make coal, we, I and my son have to go away from our wives and children. My son has three children. My daughter-in-law has to stay home in order to make by grandchildren study. I or my son supply the grocery and money home every 15 days. Before getting the loan, we were agricultural laborers and cultivate the rented land. I got the loan from the organization of Rs.10,000/- and I started the business of making coal. I repaid the loan, repaired my house and made my daughter the silver bracelets of 500 grams. After getting the loan of Rs. 30,000/-, I could work peacefully. Right now in order to work, we came to Ahmedabad. We are clearing the plot owned by Nirma Company in Bhadaj. Earlier, my son and I used to work but now I hire other people to work too. Now we are ten people. We make sure that while clearing, we only remove Gando Bawal and not any other trees such as Neem or anything. We don’t take the labour charges from the land owner. Only, amount we earn by making coal is what we earn. We use JCB machine which cost Rs. 600/- per hour. If we run the JCB for 10 hours, the expense will be Rs. 6000/-. Deducting all this, still I can earn Rs. 6000/- to 7000/-. I could not make my children study due to lack of money but whatever it takes, I will make my grandchildren study. If they will study, they will lead a good life.” 

“Ben, we have a ritual to give ornaments to the daughter in her wedding as trousseau. Next year my daughter will 18. I wish to give her at least money to her in her wedding. Thus, I have decided to put some 20-50 rupees every day in the galla and I want to deposit that money in the bank.”

When I met Babubhai I realized that although he is not educated, he is wise. We salute his understanding towards the importance of education, wisdom to save money and courage to expand his business. We must honour his spirit and honesty at the age of 55. We wish him to continue on this path ethically and keep giving employment to people…    

“ બેન, મજૂરી કરતા તો માંડ માંડ ઘરનું પૂરૂ થતું હતું. તમારી મળેલી લોન મને બહુ ફળી, આજે મારો પોતાનો કોલસા પાડવાનો ધંધો થઇ ગયો. બેન, લીધેલ લોનનો હપ્તો નિયમિત ના ભરીએ તો આપણી ક્રેડીટ બગડે ”

બેન, માફ કરજો મારાથી હપ્તા આપવામાં ચૂક થઇ ગઈ. આજે ત્રણ હપ્તા જોડે લઈને આવ્યો છું અને સાથે સાથે મારે સંસ્થાને ધર્માદો પણ આપવો છે. મારા મનમાં ખોટ નથી બેન, પણ ચોમાસામાં ધંધો ના થયો અને હપ્તા આપવાનું ચુકાઈ ગયું. કોલસા પાડવા જઈએ એટલે હું, દીકરો અને એની મા ઘરથી છેટા જતા રહીએ. દીકરાને પણ ત્રણ છોરા છે. એમનું ભણતર ના બગડે એટલે દીકરાની વહું ગામમાં જ રહે. પંદર – પંદર દિવસે હું કે મારો દીકરો જઈ કરિયાણું અને થોડા ઘણા પૈસા આપતા આવીએ. લોન નહોતી મળી એ પહેલા તો ખેતરે મજૂરી કરવા જતો અને ભાગે જમીન રાખતો. સંસ્થામાંથી રૂપિયા ૧૦,૦૦૦ની લોન મળી તો કોલસા પાડવાનો ધંધો શરૂ કર્યો. લોનેય પૂરી કરી, ગામનું ઘર સમુ (સરખું) કરાવ્યું અને મારી દિકરી માટે ૫૦૦ ગ્રામના ચાંદીના કડલા પણ કરાવ્યા. રૂપિયા ૩૦,૦૦૦ની બીજી લોન મળતા આજે આરામથી હું ધંધો કરી શકુ છું. હાલ તો પેટ માટે મજૂરી કરવા અમદાવાદમાં આવ્યા. ભાડજ ગામમાં નિરમા કંપનીનો એક પ્લોટ સાફ કરવા માટે લીધો છે. પહેલા હું અને મારો દીકરો જ મળીને કામ કરતા આજે હું બીજા લોકોને કામ આપતો થઇ ગયો. આજે અમે દસ જણા છીએ. પ્લોટ સાફ કરવાનું રાખીએ તેમાં પણ ગાંડા બાવળ જ કાઢવાના, લીમડો કે બીજા ઝાડ ના કાપીએ. પ્લોટ આપનાર પાસેથી કોઈ મજૂરી નહીં લેવાની, ફક્ત બાવળમાંથી લાકડું બનાવી જે વેચાણ થાય એ જ અમારું વેતન. બાવળ કાઢવા જેસીબી લાવીએ તો એના કલાકના રૂપિયા ૬૦૦/- આપવા પડે. જો દસ કલાક જેસીબી ચાલે તો સીધા રૂપિયા ૬,૦૦૦/- થઇ જાય. પરંતુ બધો ખર્ચ અને ઘર ખર્ચ કાઢતા મહીને આરામથી રૂપિયા ૬,૦૦૦/-થી ૭,૦૦૦/- મળી જાય. પૈસાના અભાવે હું મારા દીકરાને ભણાવી ના શક્યો. તેથી ગમે તે મહેનત કરવી પડે મારે દીકરાના બાળકોને ભણાવવા જ છે. એ ભણશે તો એમનું જીવન સુધરશે.”

“ બેન, અમારા સમાજમાં દીકરીના લગ્નમાં દાગીના આપવાનો રિવાજ છે. મારી દીકરી આવતા વર્ષે ૧૮ વરસની થઇ જશે. એટલે જેટલી શક્તિ એટલી ભક્તિ પણ દીકરીને થોડા ઘણા પૈસા આપવાની ઈચ્છા છે. 

જેના માટે મેં નક્કી કર્યું છે કે ગલ્લામાં હવે રોજના ૨૦ થી ૫૦ રૂપિયા નાંખવા છે અને મહીને એમાં જે મૂડી ભેગી થાય તે બેંકમાં ભરી દેવી છે.”

બાબુભાઈને મળ્યા પછી લાગ્યું કે તે ભણેલા કરતા ગણેલા વધારે. તેમનામાં ભણતરનું મહત્વ, બચત કરવાની કાળા અને તેમના કામને આગળ વધારવાની ધગશને સલામ. પંચાવન વર્ષની ઉંમરમાં પણ એમના જુસ્સાને અને તેમનામાં રહેલી પ્રમાણિકતાને બિરદાવવી પડે. તેઓ આમ જ નીતિથી આગળ વધે અને બીજા અન્ય લોકોને રોજી આપતા થાય તેવી શુભેચ્છા…

“Because of the loan provided by the organization, now I can dream of having my own house. I have my own Keyboard and also I have paid the debt of Rs 1,00,000/-. All of this is possible because of the organization and Mittalben.”

“My name is Rohit Ashokbhai Somkuwar. I stay in Gomtipur area of Ahmedabad District. My father does paint work and my mother goes to work in a factory. We are three brothers my eldest brother is married and stays separate from us, my second brother has just completed his studies and has started his job.”
“When I was a kid I was fascinated by music and this from 10th I started to learn how to play keyboard. We all three brothers were small so my mother used to do sewing work at home. From childhood I saw mother and father working hard so decided to learn music soon and start earning. In 1 or 2 years I was able to play well and started to play at shows with my teacher. Slowly and I was able to earn my living.”
“I kept my studies on along with it I also practiced music. After my education was completed I only focused upon my music practice and started experimenting. I did not have enough money to buy my own keyboard and so I bought an old keyboard of my friend Rs. 15000/- Spending.  Slowly everyone came to know about my skills and I got contracts for Marriage and Navratri shows. I did not have a keyboard which I could take to shows and so whenever I had shows. I used to take a keyboard on rent. So every time, I had to pay Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1000/- as rent. And this used to increase when there is season and many a times it so happened that I was unable to do shows because I did not have the keyboard.”
“I used to know VSSM as they worked for Nomadic Tribes. The founder of the organization is Mittalben. I never thought that I will receive help from the organization in such a way. I don’t belong to nomadic community but when I explained my difficulty to mittalben and she gave me interest free loan of Rs. 50,000/- adding Rs 20,000/- to it, I bought a keyboard of Rs. 70,000/-. Now I can play in marriage function, hotel shows, making up of audio jingles, Ranotsav and also in Navratri. If I get work regularly than I can earn 20,000/- to 25,000/- every month but it sometimes also happens that I don’t get work. This time in navratri because of the rain my four shows got cancelled and I incurred a loss of Rs 12,000/- to 15,000/-,” says Rohit.
Rohit Continues, “The loan provided by the organization has helped a lot. At the time of marriage my brother’s we had a debt of Rs. 2,50,000/- with interest of 3%. When I got the loan from VSSM still we had left with Rs. 1,00,000/- to pay. Now that loan is repaid over and also the loan of organization is now also coming to end. When my grandfather divided his property we were only given a small room in which we built a wall and made the separate part as kitchen. My mother has spent many years in this small house, my mother and father are also working hard so that we can get a new house. I wish that my mother can as live in her own house as soon as possible.”
“Because of the loan provided by the organization I could fulfill my dream of a musician. Along with it we were also able to get out of the debt. Now, if I would buy a house from the savings this will also be possible only because of the organization. I am very thankful for the help provided by Mittalben and the organization.”

“સંસ્થામાંથી લોન મળી તો હું આજે પોતાના ઘરનું સપનું જોતો થઇ ગયો. મારું પોતાનું કી-બોર્ડ (મ્યુઝીક સીસ્ટમ) થઇ ગયું. એક લાખ રૂપિયાનું જે દેવું હતું એ પણ હવે ચૂકતે થઇ ગયું. આ બધું સંસ્થા અને મિત્તલબેનના કારણે શક્ય બન્યું.“
“મારું નામ રોહિત અશોકભાઈ સોમકુવર છે. હું અમદાવાદ જીલ્લાના ગોમતીપુર વિસ્તારમાં રહું છું. મારા પપ્પા હાલ કલરકામ અને મમ્મી ફેકટરીમાં કામ કરવા જાય છે. અમે ત્રણ ભાઈઓ છીએ. મારા મોટાભાઈના લગ્ન થઇ ગયા છે. જે હાલ જુદો રહે છે. મારો બીજો ભાઈ અભ્યાસ પૂર્ણ કરી હાલ જ નોકરી પર લાગ્યો છે. “
 “હું નાનો હતો ત્યારથી સંગીત પ્રત્યે ગજબની રૂચિ હતી. દસમાં ધોરણમાં આવ્યો ત્યારથી કી-બોર્ડ વગાડવાનું શીખવા લાગ્યો. અમે ત્રણે ભાઈ નાના હતા તેથી ત્યારે મમ્મી ઘરમાં સિલાઈકામ કરતા. નાનપણથી જોતો કે મમ્મી – પપ્પા ખૂબ મહેનત કરે છે.  એટલે એવું વિચાર્યું કે સંગીત શીખી જલ્દીથી કામની શરૂઆત કરી દઉં. એક– બે વરસમાં સારું એવું વગાડતા શીખી ગયો, તેથી નાના નાના શો કરવા હું મારા સર સાથે જવા લાગ્યો. ધીરે ધીરે હું એટલું તો કમાવા લાગ્યો કે મારો ખર્ચો કાઢી શકું. ”
“ભણતર ચાલુ રાખ્યું અને સાથે સાથે મ્યુઝીકના શો પણ કરતો ગયો. અભ્યાસ પૂર્ણ કરી એકચિત્તે હું સંગીતની પ્રેક્ટીસ અને તેમાં નવા પ્રયોગો કરવામાં લાગી ગયો. મારી પાસે એટલા પૈસા તો હતા નહિ કે હું પોતાનું કી-બોર્ડ લાવી શકું. તેથી મારા મિત્રનું જુનું કી-બોર્ડ રૂપિયા ૧૫,૦૦૦/-માં ખરીદી લીધું. જેના પૈસા થોડા થોડા કરીને ચૂકવી દીધા. ધીરે ધીરે ઓળખાણ વધી અને લગ્ન સમયે, હોટલમાં મ્યુઝીક માટેના શો તેમજ નવરાત્રીમાં પણ કામ મળવા લાગ્યુ. મારી પાસે એવું કી-બોર્ડ તો હતું નહીં કે હું એને શોમાં લઇ જઈ શકું. તેથી જયારે શો હોય ત્યારે હું ભાડેથી કી-બોર્ડ લાવતો. જેના ભાડાના રૂપિયા ૫૦૦ થી ૧૦૦૦ ચૂકવવા પડતા. સીઝન પ્રમાણે ભાડામાં પણ વધારો થઇ જતો. ઘણીયે વાર કી-બોર્ડના અભાવે હું શો કરી શકતો નહીં. “
“VSSM સંસ્થાને હું એ રીતે ઓળખતો કે આ સંસ્થા વિચરતી – વિમુક્ત જાતિ માટે કામ કરે છે. જેના સ્થાપક મિત્તલબેન પટેલ છે. મને આ રીતે સંસ્થાની મદદ મળી રહેશે જેની મેં કલ્પના પણ નહોતી કરી. હું વિચરતી – વિમુક્ત જાતિમાં આવતો નથી. તે છતાં જયારે મિત્તલબેનને મેં મારી મૂંઝવણ કહી તો તેમણે મને નવું કી-બોર્ડ લેવા માટે વગર વ્યાજની રૂપિયા ૫૦,૦૦૦/-ની લોન આપી. બીજા રૂપિયા ૨૦,૦૦૦/-ઉમેરી રૂપિયા ૭૦,૦૦૦/-માં નવું કી-બોર્ડ લઇ આવ્યો. હવે હું લગ્ન પ્રસંગે ગરબા, હોટલના શો, ઓડીયો જિંગલ બનાવવા, રણોત્સવમાં શો, તેમજ નવરાત્રી સમયે પણ આરામથી કામ કરી લઉં છું. આમ જો નિયમિત કામ મળી રહે તો મહિનામાં રૂપિયા ૨૦,૦૦૦/-થી ૨૫,૦૦૦/- મળી રહે. પરંતુ ઘણી વખત એવું પણ થાય છે કે મહિનામાં એક પણ શો ના થાય. આ વખતે નવરાત્રીમાં જ વરસાદને કારણે ચાર શો કેન્સલ થયા. જેથી ૧૨,૦૦૦/- થી ૧૫,૦૦૦/-નું નુકસાન થઇ ગયું. “
“સંસ્થાની આપેલી લોનથી આમ તો મને ઘણો ફાયદો થયો. મારા ભાઈના લગ્ન વખતે ૨,૫૦,૦૦૦/-નું દેવું થઇ ગયું હતું જેમાં ૩% લેખે વ્યાજ હતું. લોન લીધી ત્યારે ૧,૦૦,૦૦૦/- હજી ચૂકવવાના બાકી હતા. જે આજે ચૂકવાઈ ગયા. સંસ્થામાંથી લીધેલ લોન પણ હવે પૂર્ણ થવા આવી છે. મારા દાદાએ જયારે મકાનના ભાગલા કર્યા ત્યારે અમારા ભાગમાં એક ઓરડી આવી જેમાં અમે એક દીવાલ ઉભી કરી રસોડું કર્યું. મારી મમ્મીએ વર્ષો આ નાનકડા ઘરમાં કાઢી નાખ્યા. મારા મમ્મી – પપ્પા પણ ખૂબ મહેનત કરે છે. જેથી અમે ઘર લઇ શકીએ. હું ઈચ્છું છું કે બહુ જલ્દી મારી મમ્મી પોતાના ઘરમાં વસવાટ કરે. “
“સંસ્થાની મળેલી લોનથી હું મારા સંગીતના સપનાને સાકાર કરી રહ્યો છુ. સાથે સાથે દેવામાંથી છુટકારો મળ્યો. હવે બચત કરી ઘર લઈશ તો એ પણ સંસ્થાને કારણે જ શક્ય થશે. મિત્તલબેન અને સંસ્થા દ્વારા મળેલી મદદ માટે હું દિલથી આભાર વ્યક્ત કરું છું. “
 

Amitabhai Ranaji Gawatia lives in Malgadh village of Deesa taluka in Banaskantha district. Amitabhai was formerly employed at a cutlery shop and his wife was to sell cutlery goods at home.

Amitabhai says, “Ben, my salary was low while I was working was. I have young children. He enrolled in private school so that he could get a good education. Sometimes it happens that there is no money to pay the fees. My wife owned a cutlery business, so she was run house expense from cutlery income. One day my wife told me to start a cutlery business rather than a job. I did the same thing in the shop and made a profit to the shop owner so I quit my job. I had a bicycle so I started doing business. He was to bring and sell cutlery goods on a daily basis.”

About 5 km from Malgarh Deesa, Amitabhai takes bicycles daily and sells cutlery in the surrounding villages till noon. They would then stand in the DISA market till evening. Amitabhai’s uncle’s son Prakashbhai started a business by taking loans from the organisation. He knew Maheshbhai (VSSM worker). Prakashbhai met Amitbhai with Maheshbhai. Amitabhai was given a loan of Rs.20,000/- from the organization. On receiving the loan, they brought the cutlery goods by cash. In which he and his wife both went on to do business. Currently, they earn 300 to 400 rupees daily. During the festival, one earns Rs. 700 to 800 In addition to. His wife doing business in the village, he also goes for business of cutlery in the fair around the village. Amitabh Bike wants to bring a cutlery goods business. For which they also save.

Amitabhai says, Ben, I am very grateful to the organization. Because of them I can earn good today. My son got sick and I couldn’t pay regular installments. The organization is our only support for the poor man like us. Otherwise, who would give a loan to someone like us? Thank you so much to the organization and Mittalben … “

Amitabhai has realized the importance of savings. They are saving some of the revenue they earn from the cutlery goods business. Pray to the Lord as they progress …

અમિતભાઈ રાણાજી ગવાટીયા બનાસકાંઠા જિલ્લાના ડીસા તાલુકાનાં માલગઢ ગામમાં વસવાટ કરે છે. અમિતભાઈ પહેલા કટલરીની દુકાનમાં નોકરી કરતા અને તેમના પત્ની ઘરે કટલરીના સામાનનું વેચાણ કરતા.

અમિતભાઈ કહે, “ બેન, હું નોકરી કરતો જેમાં પગાર ઓછો પડતો. મારે નાના છોકરા છે. તેમને સારું ભણતર મળી રહે તે માટે પ્રાઇવેટ સ્કુલમાં નામ લખાવ્યા. અમુકવાર તો એવું પણ થાય કે ફી ભરવાના પણ પૈસા ના હોય. મારી પત્ની કટલરીનો ધંધો કરે તેથી ઘરનું જેમ તેમ પૂરું થઇ જાતું. એક દિવસ મારી પત્નીએ મને કહ્યું કે નોકરી કરવા કરતા કટલરીનો ધંધો શરું કરી નાંખો. હું દુકાનમાં એ જ કામ કરતો હતો અને નફો દુકાન માલિકને થતો તેથી નોકરી છોડી દીધી. મારી પાસે સાઈકલ હતી તેથી ધંધો કરવાનું શરું કર્યું. રોજ કટલરીનો સામાન લાવતો અને વેચાણ કરતો. “

માલગઢ ડીસાથી ૧૦ કિલોમીટર દૂર, અમિતભાઈ રોજ સાઈકલ લઈને આજુબાજુના ગામોમાં કટલરીનો સામાન બપોર સુધી વેચે. ત્યારબાદ તેઓ ડીસા બજારમાં સાંજ સુધી ઉભા રહે. અમિતભાઈના કાકાના દીકરા પ્રકાશભાઈએ સંસ્થામાંથી લોન લઇ ધંધો શરું કર્યો હતો. તેઓ મહેશભાઈ (VSSMના કાર્યકર)ને ઓળખતા હતા. પ્રકાશભાઈએ અમિતભાઈની મુલાકાત મહેશભાઈ સાથે કરાવી. સંસ્થામાંથી અમિતભાઈને રૂપિયા ૨૦,૦૦૦/-ની લોન આપવામાં આવી. લોન મળતા તેઓ કટલરીનો સામાન રોકડેથી લાવ્યા. જેમાં તે અને તેમના પત્ની બંને ધંધો કરવા લાગ્યા. હાલ તેઓ આરામથી રોજના ૩૦૦ થી ૪૦૦ રૂપિયા કમાઈ લે છે. તહેવાર દરમિયાન ૭૦૦ થી ૮૦૦ રૂપિયા કમાણી થાય છે. તેમના પત્ની ગામમાં તો ધંધો કરે છે તે સિવાય ગામની આજુબાજુ થતા મેળામાં પણ કટલરીના સામાનનો ધંધો કરવા જાય છે. અમિતભાઈ બાઈક લાવી તેમાં કટલરીના સામાનનો ધંધો કરવા માંગે છે. જેના માટે તેઓ બચત પણ કરે છે. 

અમિતભાઈ કહે, બેન, હું સંસ્થાનો ખૂબ આભારી છું. તેમના કારણે હું આજે સારું કમાઈ શકું છુ. મારો દીકરો બીમાર પડ્યો જેના કારણે હું નિયમિત હપ્તા ભરી ના શક્યો. અમારા જેવા ગરીબ માણસ માટે સંસ્થા જ અમારો સહારો છે. નહિ તો અમારા જેવાને કોણ લોન આપે. સંસ્થાનો અને મિત્તલબેનનો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર…”

અમિતભાઈ બચતનું મહત્વ સમજ્યા છે. તેઓ કટલરીના ધંધામાં જે આવક થાય તેમાંથી થોડી ઘણી બચત કરી રહ્યા છે. તેઓ પ્રગતિ કરે તેવી પ્રભુને પ્રાર્થના…

Young girls are taught the art of making cutlery & sell readymade garments in Kangasiya Community. At first it was a pleasure to know, but I did not like what Sureshbhai said. He said,

“Ben, we don’t allow our daughters to study much, after marriage. I will send my daughters to school till 7th standard because our only requirement is that they can count and manage our cutlery business as they need some knowledge into accounting, once they learn this our traditional business is going to run smooth. We involve them into cutlery business since childhood itself so that they can gain maximum knowledge and can earn their livelihood.

Sureshbhai’s wife has also done the same thing. 

“Ben, I’ve been in the business of selling cutlery and readymade clothing ever since I was a child.  I am not much educated but my accounts is excellent, I never make a mistake of even a single rupee. ”

Sureshbhai wants his daughters to study well. But girls are still not getting education in society. Whether it is a daughter or a son, both need to be taught their traditional occupations. No one has foretold what will happen tomorrow. But today’s daughters do not get as much freedom as they need to get married and due to bad notions such as of education, dowry, shame, child marriage etc.

Sureshbhai and his wife work together selling readymade garments. It seems necessary to see that bay is similar in this regard. Both are well trained. Even before his marriage, his wife was into readymade business and still doing the same at present. Sureshbhai says,

“Khodubhai is associated with the organization. He was the one who spoke to me that VSSM organization offers interest loans without developing a business. He visited me with Kanubhai and Chhayaben. I was given a loan of Rs. 30,000 with ready cash, they brought readymade clothes and started selling. Even now we buy goods with cash. So thought of doing a seasonable business. Every day, he sits in the Kharedi market and go to the Gujri Bazar in Jamnagar every Monday. If goods are large and varied, they may be sold more. If you buy luggage in stock then you will benefitted. 

Sureshbhai has repaid his loan entirely. He wants to expand his business. If he buys the material of readymade garments, he will be beneficial. If he feels in the need in future, the organization will be helpful.

VSSM is able to brighten the lives of many people due to the many well wishes like you. This light will spread even more. We are thankful to you for all your support

Govindbhai Raval with his buffalo

Govindbhai Melabhai Raval resides in Delavada village of Mansa Taluka of Gandhinagar District since last 40 years. Govindbhai used to work as a labour lifting the bags in Market Yard of Mansa. In which during monsoon, he gets less work but still he earns Rs. 1500/- weekly. From Long time, he was thinking to buy a buffalo and had saved Rs. 10,000/- To buy a buffalo he was required to get extra Rs.10,000/- along with it. He talked about it with Rizwanbhai (A VSSM field worker). he got a loan of Rs. 10,000/- So if he would buy a buffalo and give its milk in the dairy he would get more income but it was not possible to buy a buffalo in 20,000/- and so bought the calf still it was not able to give milk for next one year and he got the expense to take care of it.

Govindbhai says, “Ben, how can we trust

anyone like this because many people came in the village made us sign some documents and after that never returned? Rizwanbhai came to the village for the first time in Delvada for survey. For one and a half year we did not trust him. He started coming to our settlement regularly. We could not get our caste certificates for many years but when we got those into our hands, we started to trust Rizwanbhai and the organization. Mittalben came to our home and we were really happy for it. I was born in Delvada. Since then we are living in shanty, we had Aadhar documents and APL card. It has been 40 years now and we still did not receive any water or electricity supply. Rizwanbhai has filled up the forms of plot for residence and supply of water and electricity for us. We stay in the shanty without any supplies with our children, we are not able to sleep at night. We wish that we get electricity- water supply as soon as possible. As we got Mittalben and the organization we don’t feel that we are alone we feel like we have someone with us. If we get plots than it would be great support for us”.

Applications are filled so that people staying at Delvada village gets plot to reside, electricity and water supply and also issuance of BPL card before the government. The organization is trying their best to provide basic necessities to these people of Delvada as soon as possible.  Because of you donors we are able to give houses to the ones who don’t have it and bringing brightness in their life thanks a lot to every one of you…

ગાંધીનગરના માણસા તાલુકાનું દેલવાડા ગામ. જેમાં ગોવિંદભાઈ મેલાભાઈ રાવળ છેલ્લા ૪૦ વર્ષથી વસવાટ કરે.ગોવિંદભાઈ માણસા માર્કેટયાર્ડમાં કોથળા ઉપાડવાનું કામ કરે. તેમાં તેમને હાલ ચોમાસામાં કામ ઓછું મળે તે છતાં અઠવાડિયામાં ૧૫૦૦ રૂપિયા તો મળી રહે.તેઓ ઘણાં સમયથી ભેંસ લાવવાનું વિચારતા. થોડા થોડા કરી તેમણે રૂપિયા૧૦,૦૦૦ ભેગા કર્યા. જેમાં ભેંસ આવી શકે તેમ નહોતી. ભેંસ લાવવા બીજા રૂપિયા ૧૦,૦૦૦ની જરૂર હતી. ગોવિંદભાઈ એ રીઝવાનભાઈ (VSSMના કાર્યકર)ને વાત કરી. જો ભેંસ આવી જાય અને ગોવિંદભાઈ ડેરીમાં દૂધ ભરાવવા લાગે તો આવક વધી જાય. સંસ્થા તરફથી ગોવિંદભાઈને રૂપિયા ૧૦,૦૦૦ની લોન આપવામાં આવી. રૂપિયા ૨૦,૦૦૦માં ભેંસ તો આવે નહીં તેથી ગોવિંદભાઈ પાડી લાવ્યા. પાડી દૂધ આપતી થાય તેને હજી લગભગ વર્ષ જેવું થશે. ત્યાં સુધી ગોવિંદભાઈને પાડીની દેખરેખ પાછળ ખર્ચ કરવો પડશે.

ગોવિંદભાઈ કહે, “ બેન,આમ કેવી રીતે કોઈના પર ભરોસો કરીએ. કારણકે કેટલાય લોકો આવ્યા અત્યાર સુધીમાં, ખોટી ખોટી લાલચો આપે, ફોર્મ ભરે અને જતા રહે, પછી પાછા ફરીને જોવા પણ ના આવે. તેથી રીઝવાનભાઈ(VSSMના કાર્યકર)દોઢ વર્ષ પહેલા દેલવાડામાં સર્વે માટે આવ્યા ત્યારે અમે તેમના ઉપર વિશ્વાસ ના કર્યો. તેઓ અમારી વસાહતમાં અવારનવાર આવતા થયા. ઘણા વર્ષોથી અમે લોકો જાતિના દાખલા માટે ધક્કો ખાતા હતા.જયારે એ જાતિ પ્રમાણપત્ર અમારા હાથમાં આવ્યા ત્યારે સંસ્થા પર અને  રીઝવાનભાઈ પર ભરોસો બેઠો. મિત્તલબેન પોતે અમારી વસાહતમાં આવ્યા એટલે બહુ આનંદ થયો. મારો જન્મ અહિયાં દેલવાડામાં જ થયો. વર્ષોથી અમે આ છાપરામાં રહીએ.આધારના પુરાવાતો અમારી પાસે હતા. રેશનકાર્ડ હતું એપણ APL કાર્ડ હતું.૪૦ વર્ષ થવા આવ્યા હજી અમારા છાપરામાં લાઈટ, પાણીની કોઈ સુવિધા નથી. રીઝવાનભાઈ દ્વારા અમને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળે તેનાં તેમજ અમારા વિસ્તારમાં લાઈટ – પાણીની સુવિધા થાય તે માટેના ફોર્મ ભરવામાં આવ્યા છે. અમે છાપરામાં કોઈ જાતની સુવિધા વગર બાળકો સાથે રહીએ છીએ. રાતે ઊંઘ પણ આવતી નથી. લાઈટ – પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા જલ્દી થાય એવું અમે ઈચ્છીએ છીએ. VSSM સંસ્થા અને મિત્તલબેન મળ્યા તો હવે એવું લાગે છે કે અમે એકલા નથી. કોઈ અમારી સાથે છે.જો ભવિષ્યમાં અમારા ઘર થઇ જાય તો રહેવા માટેનો આધાર થઇ જાય. “

દેલવાડામાં વસતા પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળી રહે, તેમના વિસ્તારમાં લાઈટ – પાણીની સુવિધા, તેમજતેમના બી.પી.એલ. કાર્ડ માટે સરકારમાં અરજી કરવામાં આવી છે. સંસ્થા દ્વારા પૂરા પ્રયત્નો રહેશે કે દેલવાડામાં વસતા પરિવારોને ઝડપથી પ્રાથમિક સુવિધાઓ મળતી થાય.આપસૌ દાતાઓની સહાયથી ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોના ઘર થઇ રહ્યા છે. તેમના જીવનમાં ઉજાસ ફેલાઈ રહ્યો છે.તે માટે અમે આપના આભારી છીએ…
