People are losing hope, there are cries and pleas for ration from all around.

The lockdown was brought into force to maintain social distancing, we had to stay home-stay safe and keep others safe. The ‘stay home’ would have worked as a circuit breaker. It would have broken the chain of infections. Our negligence and our refusal to follow the lockdown norms are badly hurting the poor, the daily wage earning families
The Government is trying its best but this is India, not China where the democracy does not allow strict enforcement of the rule. The government, organisations and individuals are working to make this work but humans that we are we simply refuse to listen.

The current situation compels me to put this firmly, ‘that we need to mend our ways. The poor will die not of Corona but hunger and deprivation. It is not just us it the entire nation that is at risk. If we continue with our careless way no money will be enough to buy us food.
Nonetheless, we are trying to the best of our abilities to help the poor families we work with. With the support of our well-wishing donors we are sending ration kits to the affected families.

 Recently, we provided ration kits to 23 families in Kheda’s Piprada, 2 in Keriyavi, 17 in Narsanda, 15 in Degam, 45 in Kanjado and 25 in settlements around Anand.
Ration kits were also provided in Banaskantha’s Bhabhr and  Indramna.
VSSM has provided ration kits to more than 10,000 families of Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Banaskantha, Surendranagar, Morbi, Mehsana, Kheda, Amreli, Gandhinagar, Patan, Dahod, Mahisagar districts.
However, we are concerned how much will we be able to continue giving if the situation continues to remain grim and we do not move out of lockdown. Hence, I urge you to please comply with the rules and do your bit. Make do with whatever grains and groceries you have stored in the house. Help break the COVID chain. Please.

આ સ્થિતિ નિર્માણ પામી આપણા સૌના લીધે.. એક અંતર જાળવવાનું હતું, ઘરની બહાર નહોતું નીકળવાનું. લોકડાઉનનો મતલબ જ આ હતો. પણ આપણે કોરાના સંક્રમણની આ ચેઈન તોડવા માટેનો વખત જ ન આપ્યો..

આખરે આ બધા પરિણામ ભોગવવાનો વારો આવ્યો, સાવ ગરીબ, રોજનું લાવીને રોજ ખાનારા માણસોને…
સરકાર એનાથી શક્ય પ્રયત્નો કરે. પણ આ ભારત છે ચીન નહીં.. લોકશાહી છે. લોકોનું સન્માન જળવાય એ રીતે સરકાર, સંસ્થાઓ અને કેટલાક વ્યક્તિઓ પ્રયત્ન કરે પણ માણસ કોને કીધો..
વાંદરવેડા એના અટકતા જ નથી..
હવે સુધરો એવું ભાર પૂર્વક કહેવા ઈચ્છુ છુ નહીં તો હાલ વધારે ખરાબ થશે…
ગરીબો કે છે ને કે કોરાનાને લીધે નહીં પણ ભૂખથી મરી જઈશું એવી દશામાં આખો દેશ ન મુકાય એ જોવાનું છે.. પૈસાનો ઢગલો લઈને જશો તોય ખાવાનું નહીં મળે એવી દશા ન થાય..

ખેર અમે તો અમારાથી શક્ય પ્રયત્નો કર્યા કરીએ છીએ.

સંસ્થાના કામોમાં મદદ કરનાર પ્રિયજનોના આર્થિક સહયોગથી રાશન આપવાનો અમારો યજ્ઞ ચાલુ છે.
હાલમાં ખેડાના પીપરદા ગામમાં 23 ,કેરિયાવીમાં 2, નરસંડામાં 17, ડેગામમાં 15, કંજોડા ગામમાં 45 અને આણંદની આસપાસ આવેલી વસાહતમાં 25 રાશન કીટનું વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યું.
બનાસકાંઠાના ભાભર ગામમાં ,ઇન્દ્રમના ગામમાં રાશન કીટનું વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યું.
અમદાવાદ ,રાજકોટ ,બનાસકાંઠા ,સુરેન્દ્રનગર ,મોરબી ,
મહેસાણા , ખેડા ,અમરેલી , ગાંધીનગર, પાટણ, દાહોદ મહીસાગર જિલ્લામાં 10000 થી વધુ રાશનકીટનું વિતરણ VSSM થકી થયું છે..
પણ સ્થિતિ આમ જ રહી અને લોકડાઉન નહીં ખુલે તો અમેય કેટલું કરીશું એ સવાલ છે. એટલે જ જે મળે એનાથી ચલાવી લ્યો. નાહક ભીડ ના કરી, કોરાના સંક્રમણની આ ચેઈન તોડવામાં મદદ કરો..એવી બે હાથ જોડી સૌને અપીલ…

VSSM providing kits to 584 families in various regions of Banaskantha…

“Saheb, we cannot thank you enough. SO far, no one had reached us  to inquire about our wellbeing. You have come along with the ration kits. We are so grateful for you!!” The nomadic families in the settlements VSSM’s Pareshbhai and Balubhai reached to provide ration had this to share.

 In fact, we need to be grateful to the donors for National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India -NFIFWI initially raised Rs. 7 lacs to support ration kits for 1000 families. The federation once again raised Rs. 7 lacs for us to provide ration kits to an additional 1000 families. We have already distributed kits to 1000 families. Currently, we are in the process of providing kits to 584 families in various regions of Banaskantha.

સાહેબ તમારો ઓભાર મોનીએ એટલો ઓસો.. અતાર હુદી અમારી ખબર પૂસવાય અમારી પાહેણ કોઈ આયું નહી.. તમે આયા અને આ કરિયોણાનો સોમાન આલ્યો.. તમારો ઓભાર મોનીએ એટલે ઓસો.

આભારના આ શબ્દો VSSMના કાર્યકર પરેશ, બલુભાઈ જેટલી પણ વસાહતોમાં રાશન વહેંચવા ગયા તે તમામ વસાહતના લોકોએ ઉચ્ચાર્યા.
આમ તો આભાર આ રાશનકીટ આપવા માટે આર્થિક સહયોગ કર્યો તેમનો માનવો ઘટે.

આપવા માટે અગાઉ 7 લાખનું અનુદાન આપ્યું. જેમાંથી 1000 પરિવારોને રાશન આપી દીધું. એમણે જ ફરી 1000 પરિવારોને રાશન આપવા બીજા સાત લાખ આપ્યા. તેમાંથી બનાસકાંઠાના વિવિધ વિસ્તારોમાં રહેતા 584 પરિવારોને રાશન આપવામાં આવ્યું. .

Help reaches the poor and marginalised communities of Devgadhbariya-Dahod, Mahisagar and Gandhinagar.

Even from faraway lands, our well-wishing friends remain concerned about the well-being of the poor and needy of their motherland.

Piyusha and I went to college together in Mehsana. A very dear friend with whom I had lost touch after life took over. Facebook connected us once again. The regular social media posts kept her informed and updated of my work through VSSM, whenever needed she would often support the cause. 
 Balvantbhai Metliya from Mumbai also helps VSSM whenever there is an urgent need. In fact, his elder brother Chandrakantbhai holds a very special relationship with VSSM.
 Although we have never have had the opportunity to meet Ahmedabad’s Jigeshbhai Shah his support to VSSM remains strong as if we have known him for years.

 VSSM has been distributing ration kits to the daily wage earning families who have been affected due to the COVID 19 lockdown. 
Balvantbhai helped us provide kits to 142 families while the support Piyusha and Kaushikbhai provided reached 106 families and Jigeshbhai’s help enabled us to provide ration kits to 14 families. 
 Collectively,  these three friends helped us provide ration kits to 262 families in Dahod, Mahisagar and Gandhinagar. Each kit carry grains and ration worth Rs. 706.

મહેસાણા કોલેજમાં મારી સાથે ભણતી પિષુષા મારી બહુ સારી દોસ્ત. પણ કોલેજકાળ પુર્ણ થયો એ પછી અમે થોડો વખત સંપર્કમાં રહ્યા ને પછી ખોવાઈ ગયા પોત પોતાની દુનિયામાં..
ફેસબુક બધાને શોધવામાં મદદ કરે બસ પિયુષા સાથે નાતો ફેર જોડાયો. વંચિતો સાથેના VSSMના કામો એ જુએ અને મદદ માટેની ભાવના પણ હંમેશા રાખે..
આવા જ બળવંતભાઈ મેતલિયા. રહે મુંબઈમાં. એમના મોટાભાઈ ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ સાથે મારો નાતો બહુ પ્રબળ. બળવતંભાઈ પણ વખતો વખત મદદ કરે.

આવા જ અમદાવાદના જીગેનભાઈ શાહ પણ. અમે મળ્યા નથી પણ જાણે કાર્યોથી વર્ષોથી એકબીજાને જાણતા હોઈએ એવું.

 બસ કોવિડ -19 ના સંક્રમણથી બચવા લોકોને ઘરમાં પુરાવવું પડ્યું. આ આફતની ઘડીમાં રોજેરોજ કમાઈને ખાનારની સ્થિતિ વિકટ થઈ. અમે રાશનકીટ આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું.

બળવંતભાઈએ 142 પરિવારોને રાશન આપવા મદદ મોકલી આપી. તો પિયુષા -કૌશિકભાઈ પટેલે 106 પરિવારો માટે અને જીગેનભાઈએ 14 પરિવારો માટે રાશનકીટના પૈસા આપ્યા.

VSSM આ ત્રણે પ્રિયજનોની મદદથી દાહોદ, મહીસાગર, ગાંધીનગરના જુદા જુદા વિસ્તારમાં રહેતા 262 પરિવારોને પ્રત્યેક પરિવાર દીઠ 706ની રાશનકીટ આપી શક્યું..

Mittalba, we are feeding paani no rabdo to our kids. We have no choice but to tell you to please help us!!” Salimbhai from Juna Deesa called up to share this plight. 

I could not understand what that was hence asked, “ what is paani no rabdo?”

“Add flour to water and boil it for a while,” he explained. 

“Oh!!”
In the absence of food and supplies, I hear many such ingenious foods being cooked by these families.

 VSSM could provide ration kits to these families from the financial support it receives from its well-wishers. The donations are pouring in but so are the calls from people calling up to tell us that they have nothing to eat. 

 The generous support we received from Star Chemicals enabled us provided ration kits to 358 families of Banaskantha’s Diyodar, Bhabhar, Kankrej and Lakhani.

 Along with the very hard working Naran and other team members of Banaskantha, volunteers from VSSM inspired People’s Association Kanubhai, Bhagubhai also joined in the distribution efforts. VSSM is proud to have a dedicated and hardworking team at its grassroots.

મિત્તલ પટેલની સંસ્થાએ વિચરતાસમુદાયના 8000 પરિવારો સુધી રાશનનીકિટ પહોંચાડી

કોરોનાના કેહેર વચ્ચેહાલ લોકડાઉનમાં લોકો કપરી સ્થિતિમાંજીવી રહ્યા છે. જેપૈસે ટકે સુખી છેએ તો હાલમાંપણ સુખેથી જીવનગુજારી રહ્યા છે, પણરોજ કમાઈને રોજ ખાતાલોકોની હાલત કફોડી બનીગઈ છે. આવાલોકોની મદદ માટે કેટલીકસેવાભાવી સંસ્થાઓ સરાહનીય કામકરી રહી છે. આવીજ એક સંસ્થાવિચરતા સમુદાય સમર્થન મંચ(VSSM) મદદ માટે આગળ આવીછે. આ સંસ્થાએઅત્યાર સુધી ગુજરાતના વિવિધજિલ્લાઓમાં વસતા વિચરતા વિમુક્તસમુદાયના લગભગ 8000 પરિવારો સુધી રાશનનીકિટ પહોંચાડી છે.

આ કાર્યમાટે VSSMની આર્થિક મદદનેશનલ ફેડરેશન ઓફ ઈન્સ્યુરન્સફિલ્ડ વર્કર્સ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયા( NFIFWI )કરી રહી છે જેLICના ક્લાસ-2ના હોદ્દેદારોનુંનેતૃત્વ કરે છે. આસંસ્થાએ ફક્ત બે દિવસમાંસાત લાખનું ભંડોળ એકઠુંકરી ચેક VSSMને આપ્યુહતું. આ ઉપરાંતઅન્ય સંસ્થાઓ પણ VSSMનીઆર્થિક મદદ કરી રહીછે.

VSSMએ ગુજરાતનાઅમદાવાદ, સુરેન્દ્રનગર, પાલનપુર, પાટણ, મહેસાણાજિલ્લાના અંતરિયાળ વિસ્તારમાં વસતાવિચરતા વિમુક્ત સમુદાય સુધીમદદ પહોંચાડી છે. VSSMનુંસંચાલન મિત્તલ પટેલ કરેછે. જેમને આ વર્ષેરાષ્ટ્રપતિ ભવન ખાતે તેમનાકાર્ય બદલ રાષ્ટ્રપતિના હસ્તેનારીશક્તિ પુરસ્કાર એનાયત કરવામાંઆવ્યો હતો.

We are extremely proud of the VSSM team who works at the frontline during these challenging times…

In the first phase of lockdown, VSSM did not immerse itself in the task of providing ration kit to the needy families. Whenever we received complaints about lack of food, the families were connected to the government’s efforts or other charity organisations working in the region. 
 Some nomadic families did inquire why VSSM wasn’t helping. “I hope everything is ok and there are no challenges with VSSM?” Rajkot’s Tejabapa Bawari had inquired with Kanubhai. 
 “VSSM will provide you food when there is no one come to feed you. As of now make do of whatever help you get from outside!!”
 The need for food increased once the second phase of the lockdown came into force. At many places, the families were given food packets but the families are not used to eating khichri or puri on a daily basis. They couldn’t eat it every day.  
 After the second phase of lockdown was announced we started distributing the ration kits. “I was confident that you will come for us, you will be with us until the end,” Tejabapa had told Kanubhai when he brought them ration kits. 
 “It is your faith in us that strengthens us, motivates us to keep going!” Kanubhai had replied.

 The financial assistance from the National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India -NFIFWI has also enabled us to provide kits to 269 needy families of Rajkot and Morbi.

The support from NFIFWI and Jewelex Foundation has also helped us reach 133 families in some villages of Kheda. VSSM’s Rajnibhai reached these families. VSSM has recently started working in Kheda, we still have to develop our relationship with the local administration and government officials. Rajnibhai had to really navigate through a complex web to get a special permit pass to commute during the lockdown. Deputy Collector Shri Ramesh Merja helped us access the pass that made it possible for Rajnibhai to reach the families in distress.

 We are extremely proud of the VSSM team who works at the frontline during these challenging times. It is a challenging task they are involved in right now. Even a simple list of families provided with the ration kits that Chayaben prepares and sends to Ahmedabad office everything seems challenging.

લોકડાઉનના પહેલાં ફેઝમાં અમે રાશન આપવાનું કે લોકોને જમાડવાનું કશુંયે કર્યું નહીં. અમને જમવાનું નથીની ફરિયાદો જ્યાંથી મળતી તેમને અમે સરકાર કે વિવિધ સેવાભાવી સંસ્થાઓ સાથે જોડવાનું કર્યું.

આ દરમ્યાન અમારા કેટલાક પરિવારોને VSSM કેમ મદદ નથી કરતું તેવા પ્રશ્નો થયા.
રાજકોટના તેજાબાપા બાવરીએ તો અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈને કહ્યું પણ ખરુ, ‘કાંઈ તકલીફ તો નથી ને?’
કનુભાઈએ કહ્યું, ‘જ્યારે તમને ખાવાનું આપવાવાળુ કોઈ નહીં હોય ત્યારે અમે આપીશું. હાલ જે છે એમાં ચલાવો..’

લોકડાઉનની અવધી લંબાઈ અને રાશનની જરૃરિયાત વધી. કોઈક જગ્યાએ કોઈ રાંધેલું આપી જતા પણ એ અમારા આ પરિવારોને બહુ ભાવ્યું નહીં. મૂળ તો ખીચડી કે પુરી એ એમનો ખોરાક નહીં વળી રોજ આ બધું કેટલું ભાવે?

અમે રાશનકીટ આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. તેજાબાપા પાસે કનુભાઈ રાશનકીટ લઈને પહોંચ્યા તો એમણે કહ્યું, ‘મને અંદરથી વિસવા હતો કે તમે આખર હુદી અમારી પડખે રહેશો..’
કનુભાઈએ કહ્યું, ‘તમારી અંદરની એ શ્રદ્ધા જ અમને કાર્ય કરવાની પ્રેરણા આપે છે..’

નેશનલ ફેડરેશન ઓફ ઈન્સ્યુરન્સ ફિલ્ડ વર્કર્સ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયા ( NFIFWI ) અને જવેલેક્ષ ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી ખેડાના કેટલાક ગામોમાં પણ 133 રાશનકીટનું વિતરણ કાર્યકર રજનીભાઈ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યું.

VSSM provided ration kits to 186 families in Banaskantha district with the support from National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India (NFIFWI)…

VSSM’s Mohanbhai had reached Ablua village to distribute ration kits to Devipujak families. The kit distribution was in progress when he received a call from Vadee families of Vadu village, “Mohanbhai, we are facing a lot of difficulties with food.”
“Give me two days to work things out!” Mohanbhai replied.
The Devipujak families who were receiving the ration kits overheard the conversation.
“What happened?”

“4 families of Vadi are in severe need of food. They called up requesting for some food!”
“Do we have extra?”
“No, have just received a call, will try to manage in two days!”
Ration kits prepared for nomadic families
“Do one thing Mohanbhai, don’t give 4 kits here, we shall share from the kits you have given us. Please take the kits to them. Bring food to those 4 families Mohanbhai!!”
I was overwhelmed when Mohanbhai shared this episode with me.
Many times we hear stories of how people in ghettos fight over the food and then there are such examples when families who have nothing give away their share to others in need. These families need to be saluted for their grace.
The current living condition of nomadic families
186 families of Banaskantha’s Dantiwada, Pathawada, Dhaniyawada, Chandisar, Dangiya, Vachdal, Saatsan, Vaghor received the grain kits from the financial support we received from National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India – NFIFWI.
We are grateful for the support NFIFWI has been during this crisis.

Volunteers Balubhai Vadee, Lalitbhai Raval from VSSM inspired People’s Association have joined in the efforts of distribution, they are playing a critical role in ensuring the kits reach the families in need. અબલુઆગામમાં રહેતા દેવીપૂજકોને રાશનકીટ આપવા VSSM ના કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈ પહોંચ્યા.
કીટ વીતરણ ચાલતું હતું ત્યાં વડુ ગામથી વાદી પરિવારોનો ફોન આવ્યો. ‘મોહનભાઈ ખાવાની ખુબ તકલીફ છે’
મોહનભાઈએ કહ્યું, ‘બે દિવસમાં વ્યવસ્થા કરુ.’
આ વાત જેમના ત્યાં કીટનું વિતરણ થઈ રહ્યું હતું તે વંચિત પરિવારો સાંભળે. એમણે ફોન પત્યો કે તુરત પુછ્યું, ‘શું થયું?’

મોહનભાઈએ કહ્યું, ‘વડામાં ચાર પરિવારો છે એ લોકોનો ફોન ખાવાનું હોય તો આપજો એવું કહેવા હતો’

‘આજે જ ફોન આવ્યો. બે દિવસમાં વ્યવસ્થા કરીશું’

VSSM handed over ration kits to 202 needy families in Surendranagar district

The nomadic families of Surendranagar received ration kits 
VSSM’s worries can ease to a very great extend whenever Surendranagar District Collector Shri K Rajesh is at work. But the disaster CORONA has been different for most of us and more concentrated efforts are required.
The nomadic families of Surendranagar received ration kits 
 With the support of Shri K Rajesh and our well-wishers based in Surendranagar we could provide ration kits to almost 1000 families in the district. However, many still remain. Today VSSM’s Harshad handed over ration kits to 202  needy families in Chuda, Sauka, Jaambu, Shiyani, Nagar, Danawada, Sra, Thangadh and Chotila. Each kit costs Rs. 700.

The unshakable bond we share with the nomadic families….

 “Why did you take so long to come to see us?? Who will take care of us if you don’t? Please do not do this, we were so anxious.” Himmatbhai Devipujak of Ablu felt a sense of relief on seeing us.

“It is an unshakable bond we share with you. We were to reach you, it took a little longer because of the disaster we are trying to cope with is difficult to handle. We tried to ensure help from the government and others reach you. The almighty that cares for you all is immensely generous, he wouldn’t allow you to go hungry. We had to reach you once he commands!!”

84 families from Patan’s Kimbuva, Kakosi, Abluva, Koita, Vagdod, Vadani and Vadu expressed worry and sense of relief after seeing us. Some were in tears when they saw VSSM’s Mohanbhai arrive with ration.

“You only care for us and came for us. Who else worries about poor like us?” some had to say this too.

With support from the National Federation of Insurance Workers of India for the support, we have managed to provide grain kits to 84 families. I am grateful to all who have supported the Federation to make this financial assistance to us. I assure you that your money has reached the neediest families who have experienced a sense of relief after the kit reached them. Thank you once again!!

 ‘તમારા બધા સાથેનો નાતો તો અતૂટ છે તમને કેવી રીતે ભૂલીએ પણ આ સંકટનો સમય થોડો લાંબો ચાલવાનો હતો એટલે સરકાર અને અન્ય કેટલાક તમને મદદ કરે એ માટે કોશીશ કરી.. અમે થોડા પાછળથી આવ્યા. આમ પણ આવવાનું તો હતું જ… વળી આપણો ધણી હજાર હાથવાળો… એ કાંઈ ભૂખ્યા થોડા રાખે એ આદેશ આપવાનો જ હતો ને અમારે આવવાનું હતું’

આવી પ્રેમભરી ફરિયાદ પાટણના કીંબુવા, કાકોસી, મુના, અબલુવા, કોઈટા, વાગદોડ, વદાની અને વડુના 84 પરિવારોએ વ્યક્ત કરી.
કેટલાકની તો આંખોમાં તો VSSMના કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈને જોઈને પાણી આવી ગયા.
‘લીધી બાપલા તમે જ અમારા ગરીબ ગરબોની હંભાળ લો બાકી કુન પડી હોય…’ એવુંયે ઘણાએ કહ્યું..

Raju Nat’s elder uncle Bijalbhai called up from Lathi the other day, “Ben, we are in a great difficulty here. I wish to start a community kitchen here. We can at the least provide two meals a day…”
“Bijalbhai, you yourself beg for food, how do you plan to start a community kitchen?” was my curious reply.
“If I am begging for myself, why can I beg for others?”

I tried to discourage him, told him it is not right to do so. I told him we shall manage to provide ration kits to all the families in trouble.
With the support of ever so generous and dear Nanditaben Parekh, Jayeshbhai Sherdalal, Vimla Thakkar and Rajendrabhai Patel we managed to provide ration kits to 76 families living in Lathi and Bagasara and 138 families living in Saapar. The kits reached them because of the hard work and efforts of our Ramesh. Each of these ration kits costs Rs. 700.

અને જેટલા તકલીફમાં છે તે સૌને આપણે રાશનકીટ આપવાની વ્યવસ્થા કરીશું તેમ કહ્યું.

આભાર આપ સૌ પ્રિયજનોનો… તકલીફમાં આવી પડેલા આપણા આ પરિવારોની પડખે ઊભા રહી આપે જે સહયોગ કર્યો તે માટે આભારી છું.

બગસરામાં તો જરૃરિયાતમંદ પરિવારોને ઓળખી તેમને રમેશે પોતાના ઘરે બોલાવ્યા અને રાશન આપ્યું..
અહીં રાશન કીટ મેળવનાર પરિવારની યાદી મુકવામાં આવી છે. જેથી મદદ કરનારને પણ એની જાણ રહે.
